For the fourth consecutive year, Texas whiskey lovers cower in fear as the Monster Mash returns to sow deliciousness across the land. Each October, the sinister alchemists of Still Austin release a potion made from five unholy Texas grains—and this year’s concoction may be the most terrifyingly exquisite whiskey yet.
ABOUT THE WHISKEY
A diabolical blend of five Texas grains—malted white corn, malted wheat, rye, malted rye and malted barley—the 2023 Monster Mash has been aged at least 30 months in new American oak barrels. Beware: the Monster Mash is sinfully delicious, with notes of maple syrup, cinnamon apple cider, dried cherry, root beer barrel candy and pumpkin pie.

ABOUT THE LABEL ART
As we do every year, Still Austin engaged Austin illustration legend Dan Grissom to create the 2023 Monster Mash label. Originally from rural Louisiana, Dan has been designing, painting, print-making and making music out of his garage in Austin for many years, completing celebrated posters for artists ranging from Metallica to Kings of Leon, Big Thief to Hayes Carll. This year Grissom’s renowned tree monster has attempted to navigate a corn maze—and in the process, created his own much simpler path through the labyrinth.
