"Still Life" Fort Lonesome

May 27, 2022

In this episode of “Still Life,” the legendary women of Ft. Lonesome talk about how they almost singlehandedly revived the art of chain-stitching in Texas, using vintage machines to produce stunning results. “It’s kind of like tattooing your garments,” says head tailor Rebekah Dubose. “Each piece that’s embroidered has a story.”

A split image of three women smiling in a workshop with shelves of colorful thread spools in the background. The woman on the left has short blond hair and tattoos, the middle woman wears glasses and has pigtails, and the woman on the right has long hair and a pink cap.
