Each month, Still Austin Whiskey Co.’s Master Blender, Nancy Fraley, searches through our oldest cask-strength barrels to find a spirit that stands apart— one with a character so exceptional, it deserves to be bottled on its own. These limited-edition “Nancy’s Picks” are available only at our Distillery in Austin, making each release a rare opportunity to taste whiskey through Nancy’s finely tuned nose and palate.
Since the launch of our flagship bourbon, The Musician, in 2020, Nancy has been behind every beloved blend we’ve released. Her ability to detect subtle aromas and flavors —even to the point of knowing where a barrel was aged in the rickhouse— has earned her recognition as one of the most talented blenders in the world. October’s selections showcase her artistry at its finest.
October 2025 Nancy’s Pick Straight Rye Whiskey
- Nose: Dark and otherworldly, with caramel-chocolate pecan ice cream, prunes in heavy syrup, and cinnamon-chili brownies.
- Palate: Freshly baked bran muffins with raisins, carrot cake with cream cheese frosting, ground black, pink, and green peppercorns, and hints of floral muscatel wine.
- Finish: Enduring notes of almond butter smoothie, coffee cake with streusel crumb topping, and Darjeeling tea.
October 2025 Nancy’s Pick Straight Bourbon Whiskey
- Nose: Very cherry and berry forward, with raspberry tart, strawberries and heavy whipped cream, and Black Forest cake.
- Palate: Brandied cherries, grilled figs drizzled in aged balsamic vinegar, pomegranate syrup, and walnuts.
- Finish: Rich and unctuous, with blackberry pancake syrup and sugar cookie dough.
