EX-BLUE CORN
BOURBON CASK FINISHED
STRAIGHT RYE WHISKEY
Much like art, whiskey finishing is an exercise in layering— each element adding depth and character. The prickly pear cactus artwork on this label, created by Austin artist Jay Morgan, blends materials and color in a striking tribute to the official plant of Texas. Inside the bottle, you’ll find a bold whiskey made from 100% Brasetto Rye, aged for three years and finished for an additional six months in ex-Blue Corn Bourbon barrels— bringing a smooth, nuanced finish that reflects the complexity of its craft.

About the artist

BrunkyArt, led by Austin artist Jason Wallerstein, offers vibrant paintings and prints inspired by the flora and fauna of the Texas Hill Country. Originally from South Florida, Jason specializes in a wide range of creative works, including murals, linocut prints, and sculptures, all reflecting his love for Texas and outdoor adventures. With a background in fine arts from the renowned Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), he has been featured in local galleries, hotels, and markets like Austin's Blue Genie Art Bazaar.

Notably, Jason was named the September 2023 Artist of the Month for Miller IDS' Annual Calendar.
For the Still Austin label, Jason selected the turkey vulture to highlight an often-overlooked creature that plays a vital environmental role. He paired the bird’s striking features with bourbon’s warm honey tones to create a bold, memorable design. Using relief woodblock reduction printmaking, Jason meticulously layers colors from light to dark, carving and printing each stage with precision. This intricate, irreversible process results in small, thoughtfully crafted editions.
