STRAIGHT RYE WHISKEY
Crafted for those who appreciate the depth of bourbon, this bold 4-year-old rye whiskey offers a perfect balance—where rye spice meets the familiar sweetness of corn and the warm, toasty notes of malted barley. Unlike our previous rye releases, this expression takes a more traditional approach, resulting in something remarkably smooth yet undeniably distinctive.
The label features an original woodcut relief print of the Texas Turkey Vulture by Austin’s own BrunkyArt—an often overlooked but vitally important symbol of Texas’ diverse ecosystem. A reminder that even the unexpected can be essential. A rye made for bourbon lovers. A whiskey that’s anything but ordinary.

About the artist

BrunkyArt, led by Austin artist Jason Wallerstein, offers vibrant paintings and prints inspired by the flora and fauna of the Texas Hill Country. Originally from South Florida, Jason specializes in a wide range of creative works, including murals, linocut prints, and sculptures, all reflecting his love for Texas and outdoor adventures. With a background in fine arts from the renowned Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), he has been featured in local galleries, hotels, and markets like Austin's Blue Genie Art Bazaar.

Notably, Jason was named the September 2023 Artist of the Month for Miller IDS' Annual Calendar.
For the Still Austin label, Jason selected the turkey vulture to highlight an often-overlooked creature that plays a vital environmental role. He paired the bird’s striking features with bourbon’s warm honey tones to create a bold, memorable design. Using relief woodblock reduction printmaking, Jason meticulously layers colors from light to dark, carving and printing each stage with precision. This intricate, irreversible process results in small, thoughtfully crafted editions.
